Hatha Yoga Beginner
5 Week Workshop
This 10 hour course introduces students to the Hatha Yoga practice including the primary physical postures, breathing exercises, and philosophy. Each week the class will learn new practices as well as review the principles taught from the previous week to further integrate the technique and methodology. Each class is adapted for personalized attention to individual needs in a nurturing non-competitive atmosphere. Completion of this program will enable students to practice safely and confidently whether in a large class room or privately at home.
- 1st week: Break down of the Sun Salutations. Introduction to breathing.
- 2nd week: Standing and balancing postures. Introduction to chanting
- 3rd week: Backbends and twists. Introduction to the Gunas and Doshas.
- 4th week: Seated postures and inversions. Introduction to Chakras.
- 5th week: Adjustments, variations and review.
$108 for the 10 hour course. Scholarship or work exchange available.
